2010 Haunted Hayride ~ Benefit for United Way

In these hard times there are more people than ever in our area in need of assistance.  Again this year Alpha Zeta Omicron will host the 12th annual haunted hayride which will be held at the Pleasant Hill City Lake on October 23rd from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Proceeds earned from the hayride will be donated to the Pleasant Hill United Way to be used to help those in need.

This is your chance to help donate to the cause and enjoy a frightfully fun evening.  Tickets for the hayride are just $5 each.  A hot dog, cookie and drink is included with each admission.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend and at the same time help out those in need here in Pleasant Hill.

Putting on the hayride is not an easy task.  It takes months and months of planning, building and many volunteers that donate their time and money to help make the hayride a success each year.  During these rough economic times businesses are just not able to donate as they did in the past which will make pulling the event off this year just a little bit more difficult.  If you are able to help either monetarily or physically at the hayride, please contact Amy Nelson, event coordinator, at 816.540.3255 as soon as possible.  The more help they have in advance, the more scary the hayride experience will be and the more money we can donate to the Pleasant Hill United Way.

“H” Family

Last weekend I was able to spend part of the evening with the “H” family. Back in the day, I went to school with the kids and Mr. H was the superintendent of the schools. Fast forward a few years and I’m able to meet up with them again for some family photos. What a great job I have! In addition to these traditional photos, they also had special pictures taken specifically for their Christmas cards. I have to keep them under wraps for now, but I’m going to beg them to allow me to share after Christmas. The theme is just too fun! Their cards are sure to bring a smile to all those lucky enough to receive them.

A, I hope we got done quick enough for you and the process wasn’t too painful.
C, hope you’re feeling better!
Mr. and Mrs. H, hope you like the images.  You and your family were so fun to work with!
C, thank you for contacting me for your family photos.  It was so great seeing everyone again.

Business Spotlight~Pleasant Hill Drug / Business Headshots

Did you know Christy B Photography provides headshots for your business needs? The process is fast, simple and we’ll have you in and out in less than 15 minutes.

We recently photographed the pharmacists of Pleasant Hill Drug. The drug store just moved to it’s new location at 1502 N. 7 Highway complete with a fancy new drive-thru. I stopped in to see the new store out and it is really nice. Check them out on Facebook, too. They post interesting healthy living tidbits of information that you might enjoy reading.

“K” Family Maternity

Through divine intervention the “K” family was brought to Christy B Photography for their maternity portraits. How lucky am I? Beautiful family. Glowing mom. Handsome dad. Adorable big sister. Lucky baby! I am thrilled to share a few of their maternity images with you.

Oh. My Gosh.  How perfect are they?!?

Little Miss L was just the most precious thing and a dream to work with.  Look at that smile and those sparling eyes.  It doesn’t get much cuter than that.

Simply stunning.  You look absolutely beautiful, Jennifer!

I love this image and how you can feel their love for one another just by looking at it.  Dad’s tattoo is just begging for a newborn portrait with baby in his arms.

Thank you, thank you, thank you “K” family for allowing me to photograph your beautiful growing family.  I hope you like your maternity images.

“A” ~ Not the Usual School Portraits

Here is another round of NTUSP for you. “A” was a natural. We zipped through a few images, looked at them and had the HARDEST time narrowing them down because she was beautiful in ALL of them. She chose our Beachy set – one of my personal faves.

N ~ “Not the Usual School Portraits”

“N” was recently in for some “Not the Usual School Portraits”. He chose our BOYZ background. Five minutes of smiling and here are a some of the images he and his mom had to choose from.  I think he rocked it out!

There is still time to get your “Not the Usual School Portraits”.  You can learn more about our NTUSP HERE.

Brand New: “Not the Usual” School Portraits

A new school year is in session. It’s time for school pictures. Picture this scenario…

Typical school pictures:
Bland, boring backdrop that doesn’t match the outfit
Little Billy’s snack crumbs still on his face
A strand of Sally’s hair sticking wildly out of place
Frank’s red face from PE class which was right BEFORE pictures
That annoying cheesy fake smile from Lisa

Now picture this scenario…

“Not the Usual School Pictures” from Christy B Photography:
You choose from one of 20 custom backdrops that best matches the outfit
Fully retouched images to remove food crumbs, blemishes or whatever else may be found on a child’s face
Mom or dad present to perfect the hair/outfit prior to pictures
No PE class or recess to cause red faces
Patience and expertise to get that beautiful natural smile you know so well

So we ask you, why would you settle for those terrible pictures from the school? This is the ONE time of the year Christy B Photography offers print packages at reduced prices with NO session fee. This is your chance to get quality professional portraits of your school children at a very affordable price.  We also offer a variety of specialty products that can only be purchased during this time.  Give us a try and see the amazing difference in your child’s school photos.

*PLEASE NOTE: Christy B Photography does NOT provide yearbook photos to the schools.  Your child MUST still be photographed at school to be included in the yearbook.  (You just don’t have to buy any prints from them if you don’t want to!)

Creating

Sometimes it’s good to take a break. Clear your mind. Try something different. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing the last couple of days. I put aside the editing and paperwork and started creating. I went back to where it all started and made some new hair accessories. I’ve had several inquiries as to whether I still make the hair bows. The answer is, YES, I do. I have some shown ONLINE. A more user friendly site with new items is on my “To Do List”. In the meantime, I do schedule appointments to view the items available or to place custom orders. Just CONTACT ME to schedule an appointment.
